Marie's Coffee & Gifts
Marie's Coffee & Gifts is built on the spirit of
Italian family, tradition, and a commitment to quality values that began on
Arthur Avenue in the heart of Little Italy in the Bronx, New York.
Our story begins in the early 1950s, when Marie Prevete
migrated from Italy with a simple goal: to create a better life through honest
work and the foods that reminded her of home. In 1952, she opened a humble
fruit stand on Arthur Avenue, serving the local community with warmth,
generosity, and the fresh ingredients she grew up with.
By 1972, Marie expanded from the fruit stand into a
storefront next door, transforming her small business into a specialty shop
offering freshly ground coffees from Italy and South America, along with other
specialty goods. Her shop became a neighborhood staple, known for fairness,
value, and the personal service of a true family-run business. Customers
returned year after year because Marie treated every person as though they were
stepping into her own kitchen.
Marie retired in 1994, passing the torch to her nephew
Neil, who grew up in the store and understood the legacy he was entrusted to
protect. Under his guidance, the business expanded its selection to include
premium imported Italian pastas, sauces, coffees, and other Italian
specialties.
Building on the success of the Arthur Avenue retail
store, Neil expanded Marie's into an importer and distributor of Italian
specialty products, working directly with manufacturers in Italy and
bringing carefully selected products to the United States. Through its
wholesale operation, Marie's supplies premium imported pasta, coffee, sauces,
and other Italian specialties to quality food retailers and purveyors
throughout the New York Tri-State area.
Neil continues to travel to Italy and maintain
relationships with Italian manufacturers and suppliers who share the family's
commitment to quality, authenticity, and traditional craftsmanship. These
relationships allow Marie's to bring products from Italy directly to its
warehouse in Tuckahoe, New York, for wholesale distribution and
direct-to-consumer retail.
From Arthur Avenue to Our Online Store
Today, Marie's Coffee & Gifts continues that family
tradition from our current location at 125 Marbledale Road in Tuckahoe, New
York, while bringing more than 70 years of history to customers across the
United States through MariesCoffeeandGifts.com.
Our online store offers a carefully selected assortment
of Italian specialty products, including premium imported pasta, gluten-free
Italian pasta, coffee beans, espresso, coffee pods and capsules, moka pots,
olive oil, Italian kitchenware, ceramics, and specialty gifts.
In addition to our online business and wholesale
distribution, customers can shop in person at our Tuckahoe location on Saturdays
from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Each product is selected with care, reflecting our
appreciation for Italian food traditions, quality ingredients, craftsmanship,
and the values Marie established more than seven decades ago.
